Dear Friends, 

There is an Open House this Wednesday November 28, 2007 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The "formal" grand opening will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm. You are all invited to attend.  Even more important, is that we spread the word about this project, so as to expand the donor and funding opportunities to make this a sustainable project. This is a critical time in the life of the shelter. About $15,000 is needed to keep the shelter open for the winter months. Soroptimist International of Prescott Inc. has set a wonderful standard for organizations in the community donating $1,000 to make one bed available for the winter months for a local woman or child.

PAWS is opening with NO financial backing. As many of you know most non-profits operate with funding from outside grants, but not this shelter. This effort has been a true testament to the collaborative spirit, and generous nature of our community. The shelter has come together from the support of local organizations and citizens donating time, supplies, space, and love to the creation of the shelter. Everything you will see at the open house has been donated. The PAWS volunteers are so thankful to work and live in such a wonderful community.
